Watch or rewatch when Great Britain won the 2021 World Cup - Can they do it again this year?

2021 was a good year for Great Britain in Speedway auspices. The long-awaited World Cup title came back to the island, after 32 years without gold in the trophy cabinet. Surprisingly, they won without triple world champion Tai Woffinden in the 2nd part of the final, which was run over two days.

The defending world champions from Russia did not make it to the final, as the two big stars Artem Laguta and Emil Sayfutdinov were not there due to conflicts with the Russian Motor Union. Thus, Russia had no chance of winning the World Cup title for the 4th time in a row.

Denmark managed to bring home a bronze medal in the trophy cabinet after they were knocked out by Great Britain in qualifying for the final final heat against Poland. The final heat was won by Great Britain, and could thus see itself as world champion.

You can see the final heat in the video above.

The Team WC 2022 will be run here at the Vojens Speedway Center, as early as July 27-30.
