Vojens Speedway Center gets press officer

Former speedway commentator Ib Søby will be press officer in the year for the re-creation of the Danish speedway mecca.

As the new speedway season begins, Danish speedway fans will keep an eye on the efforts of the Danish stars in, for example, England, Sweden and Poland. Niels Kr. Iversen and Leon Madsen secured participation in this year's grand prix series, but the puzzle on who should be awarded wildcards in the European Championships and to the Danish World Cup grand prize in Vojens - Saturday, September 7 - will characterize the talk in the Danish speedway environment.

Director of Vojens Speedway Center Jacob Olsen has joined experienced journalist Ib Søby to provide information, articles for the website and handling of the large international press corps, which will focus on the Vojens Speedway Center under the European Championships on Saturday, August 10, and again to the World Cup in September.

- I am incredibly pleased to have Ib Søby on board. This is an important step for us, and Ib is a well-liked and enthusiastic figure in Danish speedway. He has a large network at home and abroad. We have traveled together and commented on many races, and Ib is characterized by tremendous knowledge and thorough preparation, says Jacob Olsen.

Ib Søby is remembered as a popular and knowledgeable TV commentator from 1998 to 2014 on dk4 and DR. In parallel, Ib Søby has written two books on the speedway, giving numerous lectures on the sport. In 2010, he was honored with the gold mark by the Danish Motor Union.
