After 15 years as manager of Danish speedway star Nicki Pedersen, Helge Frimodt Pedersen joins in January as Jacob Olsen's right hand at Vojens Speedway Center.
The experience of working in one of the world's most successful speedway teams must now be translated into the re-creation of the Danish speedway mecca in Vojens, where Jacob Olsen from the New Year takes over the operation of his father, the legend Ole Olsen.
- It has been an amazing journey with Nicki Pedersen and an era that I have been really happy about. At the same time, I see it as a natural transition to continue my speedway life with the development of the Vojens Speedway Center and the club's efforts to run the Super League from 2020, says Helge Frimodt Pedersen, highlighting the Danish World Cup grand Saturday on September 7, 2019 as next year's biggest task.
The job change is in mutual respect with Nicki Pedersen, who sees the new initiatives in Vojens as an important boost for Danish speedway.
- I have to prioritize a little differently in 2019, where I do not participate in the grandprix series, and Helge's upcoming work in Vojens sounds just as reasonable. It will be great to follow, says Nicki Pedersen.
Jacob Olsen is also very excited to have Helge Frimodt Pedersen join his new company speed1way.
- In addition to his extensive experience, Helge is a highly respected profile in both the Danish and international speedway environment. He is an all-round caliber with a strong sense of economy, and I always dreamed that we would work together again, says Jacob Olsen, who had Helge Frimodt Pedersen in his back country when he was a Danish coach from Denmark. 2001 to 2004.
50-year-old Helge Frimodt Pedersen from Daugaard near Vejle is a banking graduate. As a child, he became passionate about speedway because his father - manufacturer Oluf Frimodt Pedersen - was a team leader for the Danish speedway national team for a number of years. He was thus the backman of the German Landshut in 1978, when the national team captured its very first World Cup title.
Helge Frimodt Pedersen was associated with the world champion Hans Nielsen in the 90s, before joining Nicki Pedersen in 2004.
