The triple world champion Nicki Pedersen is with when SES - Sønderjylland Elite Speedway on Wednesday night takes on Holsted Tigers. It is the two leading teams in the Metal Speedway League who play together at Vojens Speedway Center, and the match will also decide who gets home in this year's DM Superfinal in September.
Despite a violent crash in Poland in June, and an ongoing disciplinary case, the 44-year-old Nicki Pedersen is reported ready to drive for the Holsted Tigers in the tense showdown on Wednesday night.
- Yes, we expect to come to Vojens in our strongest line-up, with Nicki, René Bach, Rasmus Jensen, Marius Nielsen and Sam Jensen, says Holsted's team leader Lars Munkedal.
After a match in June, Nicki Pedersen was sentenced to six months' exclusion from all speedways due to unsportsmanlike conduct, as he was frustrated by as many as three exclusions in one and the same match.
Nicki Pedersen, together with his lawyer, has appealed the ruling, and therefore has a temporary start permit.
SES - Sønderjylland Elite Speedway is also in the strongest possible line-up. It will thus be with the double Danish champion, and current Grand Prix driver Anders Thomsen, flanked by Nicolai Klindt, German Kai Huckenbeck, and the two South Jutland super talents Mads Hansen and Jesper Knudsen.
The race begins on Wednesday, August 4 at. 19.00 and ticket sales at ticketmaster are open.
