The first World Grand Prix of the Year at the Warsaw National Stadium is postponed from Saturday, May 16 to Saturday, August 8. The move, of course, happens as a consequence of the Polish authorities' efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.
- This decision was made after careful consideration and in consultation with the Polish Motorcycle Federation PZM, FIM, BSI Speedway and Narodowy Stadium for concern about the safety of riders, spectators and everyone involved in the speedway sport. The event has been temporarily moved to August 8, BSI speedway director Steven Gould said in a press release.
According to the calendar for 2020, the World Cup series may begin with the German Grand Prix in Teterow, Saturday 30 May, or the Czech Grand Prix in Prague, on Saturday 13 June.
The Danish branch - 2020 Danish FIM Speedway Grand Prix Sponsored By ECCO - is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, as the penultimate of the year.
