After Cardiff and the Millennium Stadium have disappeared from the calendar, Saturday's Grand Prix has become an absolute must. The Big One in the World Speedway Championship series and led by five-time champion and current World Cup runner-up Bartosz Zmarzlik, Saturday will feature a gigantic speedway party around the historic bridge over the Wiesla River, where the ultra-modern stadium was built for the UEFA Euro 2012 football championship, jointly organized by Poland and Ukraine.
The official inauguration took place on January 29, 2012, and a month later
The first match between Poland and Portugal was played at the stadium and ended goalless.
Denmark has – as you know – Anders Thomsen and Mikkel Michelsen in Warsaw, and after the disappointment at the Grand Prix opening in Landshut, Germany, there is only one way – and that is forward, on the one-off track that has been established for the occasion under the leadership of Danish speedway legend Ole Olsen.
There is a time trial and sprint on Friday at 3:00 PM.
Bartosz Zmarzlik has – yet – not tried to win in his country's capital, but has been in the last two finals.
Polish Patryk Dudek has a wildcard.
